After an embarrassing stumble in the recording industry, Qtrax is back again this time boasting more "free and legal" music than before.

The wait for Qtrax's free, legal P2P service continues, as over 24 hours after the site was scheduled to launch with music from two major labels, a great deal of music from both labels continues to be unavailable for download from the service and an apparent network bug is causing the player to crash when trying to play the music.

I’ve scoured said Internet for news, even blogs, about users’ experiences with QTrax and have found very little - other than a few varying forms of “It’s still not up.”

After an embarrassing attempt to launch without any support from the record industries in the recent past, QTrax is trying once more to launch today, supposedly offering millions of free and legal P2P music tracks for our listening pleasure. Are they going to be on time?

Remember Qtrax, the supposedly free and extremely delayed legal P2P music service? Well the wait is finally over, as an official release date of June 18th, 2008 has surfaced on their website. With the negative reputation they have created by delaying the release over and over, this release date might not mean anything, but we really hope it does.
